Don T Make Me Wait 1980s
Waiting period laws, which create a buffer between the time of gun purchase and gun acquisition, can help to prevent impulsive acts of gun violence. In particular, studies suggest that waiting period laws prevent firearm suicides and firearm homicides.

There is no federal waiting period. Under the National Instant Criminal Background Check System (NICS), a dealer may transfer a firearm to a prospective purchaser as soon as he or she passes a background check.10 Generally, if the FBI is unable to complete a background check within three business days, the dealer may complete the transfer by default.11 However, if a person under age 21 tries to buy a long gun and NICS identifies a potentially disqualifying juvenile record for the person within this initial three business days, NICS has ten business days from when the FFL first contacted the system for a background to determine whether the person is disqualified from possessing a gun, after which time the dealer may complete the transfer by default.12
Nine states and the District of Columbia have waiting periods that apply to the purchase of at least some types of firearms.14 See our summary on Background Check Procedures for state laws that prohibit gun sales or transfers until a background check is completed.
California, Rhode Island, and the District of Columbia impose a statutory waiting period on all firearm purchases. Subject to limited exceptions, California and the District of Columbia require a ten-day waiting period for all firearm purchases.21 Rhode Island imposes a seven-day waiting period for all purchases of firearms unless the purchaser is a law enforcement officer.22 However, the seller must deliver the firearm to the purchaser if, within seven days, he or she does not receive background check information disqualifying the potential buyer from purchasing the firearm.23
In Maryland, any person who transfers a handgun must wait seven days from the time a prospective purchaser completes an application to purchase the firearm and the application is forwarded to the Secretary of the Maryland State Police.37
New Jersey prohibits retail firearm dealers from delivering a handgun to any person unless he or she possesses a valid permit to purchase a handgun and at least seven days have elapsed since the date of application for the permit.38 Since each permit is valid for only one handgun purchase, this effectively creates a seven-day waiting period for all handgun sales.39
Reading your stories makes me wonder if they could have saved my dad three months ago. I lost my dad on May 28,2020 on his actual birthday to Aspiration Pneumonia and Sepsis. I had never heard of Sepsis. My dad has been in and out of the hospital for the past two years. (12 times to be exact). He went to the hospital this last time and was being treated by two very strong antibiotics for a severe cough which he developed as soon as he had a kidney failure and required Hemodialysis Dialysis three times a week. He was very weak and had lost over fifty pounds within the fist year of the onset of his illness. I will always wonder if the hospital the dialysis center missed the initial signs of Sepsis. I will never know. I strongly believe every patient needs an advocate.
We just arrived to work today with the news that a fellow co worker had passed away. Many of us were unaware that he recently had stomach bypass surgery. What we have learned is he had complications from surgery and returned to the hospital in severe pain. Since then he had 2 additional surgeries and eventually was put on dialysis due to kidney failure. He died yesterday from sepsis, which brought me to this article. How can a young man (approx. 30 yrs old) suddenly die from something he thought was going to make him healthier ? All this within a 2 week period.
My mother awoke on July 3 during the middle of the night with excruciating pain, while on vacation. I took her to the local ER where they gave her IV ibuprofen and a leg brace, then sent her home. Told her to follow up with orthopedic doctor. The next day, July 4, she was still in pain but thought she would be okay; however, by that night she and my dad had decided to return home to go to the ER but due to traffic and their age they waited until morning. They had a three hour drive and she was in so much pain she was constantly screaming help me. By the time she arrived at the ER her blood pressure was low and oxygen low. She was eventually admitted, had surgery to remove fluid and given IV fluids. She was discharged from the hospital on July 13 to be taken to a rehab. A PICC line was placed in her arm so she could continue to get IV antibiotics. She is also receiving pain meds every four hours and PT daily. It is now July 23 and there is not much improvement. She still cannot put weight on her leg; although she can move her ankle around. There is severe pain in her knee area when the pain meds wear off. Her doctor in the rehab came to see her today and was surprised by the little improvement. She follows-up with the infectious disease doctor tomorrow but I am so worried about her. Any advice? Anyone know of someone having IV antibiotics for three weeks with little improvement?
This song is a unique take on LDRs, from the perspective of someone who has left their significant other to pursue their dreams. Dallas Green, the voice behind City and Colour, has a soothing, soulful voice that makes this song a great listen.

I watched The young and the Restless Season 50 episode 3. During the party scene, There is a song playing in the background that has the following lyrics: "It's the way you look at me, It's the way you make me feel when your smiling it gives a chill, now your mine." Does anyone know this version of this song? Also, Not the ones like Alex bright, George Mello, Bassca, and the others. I'm referring to the one found in that soap opera show.

This has been in my head for the past month or so.* Synth pop, recording suggests it's from the 1980s. Drums (if any) mixed low. Bass is a synth bass. "Crystal"/bell sound during "chorus"* Single male singer.* main portion (chorus?) is slow tempo; there's a second part (bridge?) where it speeds up a bit. Fades out with the chorus.* The chorus is fairly short: 2 syllables, 3 or 4 syllables, then two groups of 4 syllables; the second group seems to repeat the previous, but at a higher pitch.* The chorus ends with lyrics like "here for a while" or "we say goodbye" (these aren't them, though; maybe the vowel sounds are right).* The bridge comes up a few times. One time, it starts with something like "I never wanted" (again, these aren't the actual lyrics)
Ty Webb:I'm going to give you a little advice. There's a force in the universe that makes things happen. And all you have to do is get in touch with it, stop thinking, let things happen, and be the ball.
Judge Smails:Danny, Danny, there's a lot of, uh, well, badness in the world today. I see it in court today. I've sentenced boys younger than you to the gas chamber. Didn't wanna do it, but felt I owed it to them. The most important decision you can make right now is what do you stand for, Danny? Goodness... or badness?
Evidence You Can Use: Waiting Periods for Abortion is designed to give advocates, service providers and policymakers the data and resources they need to engage in ongoing policy discussions in their states. It includes information on state laws and policies, a synthesis of the relevant research, information on states in which the issue has been debated in the past three years and links to state-specific data. The toolkit provides an evidence base for understanding the impact of waiting periods on access to abortion services.
Some states have in-person counseling requirements, which means that if a waiting period is also in effect, a woman seeking an abortion must make two trips to her provider. Women who have to make two trips may face more complicated logistics, additional costs and delays in care.
